Navigating the rapidly growing industry of healthcare technology can be confusing for all of us. Many of us may not know where to start. What role should I apply for? What does the job entail? Do I have the qualifications for that position?

This online panelist event will feature industry professionals of all backgrounds within healthcare technology: clinicians, informaticists, analysts, software/application support, project managers, and varying levels of leadership. Join us as each guest shares their career paths, current job roles and career discoveries in this exciting industry.

Speaker Information

The panelists attending this online event come from diverse backgrounds within healthcare technology. They include professionals such as data science managers, enterprise application managers, informatics nurse specialists, and faculty members with extensive experience in healthcare information systems, clinical informatics, and nursing. Their educational backgrounds vary, with degrees ranging from PhDs in Biomedical Informatics to Bachelors of Science in Health Information Management. These panelists share a common passion for healthcare technology and its potential to improve patient care and clinical practice through innovation and informatics.

Travis Gamble, Data Science Manager

Travis Gamble holds a PhD in Biomedical Informatics from OHSU and currently serves as a Data Science Manager at PeaceHealth. He is based in Vancouver, Washington, and his passion for healthcare technology lies in combining data analysis and electronic discovery techniques to positively impact patients' lives. Travis values the dynamic and creative environment of healthcare technology.

Heather Tone, Manager

Heather Tone graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from Western Governors University. She currently works as a Manager of Enterprise Applications at PeaceHealth. She lives in Vancouver, Washington, and her interest in healthcare technology stems from her problem-solving nature and the continuous opportunities for process improvement and analysis in this fast-paced field.

Brett Andreasen, Informatics Nurse Specialist

Brett Andreasen completed a BSN at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah, and an MS in Nursing Informatics at the University of Utah. He now serves as a Senior Clinical Systems Analyst at Seattle Children's Hospital, based in Seattle, Washington. Brett's fascination with the intersection of medicine and technology led him to nursing informatics, where he contributes to enhancing medical workflows through electronic health records (EHR).

Dr. Angela Lewis, DNP, MBA-IT, RN-BC, FHIMSS

Dr. Angela Lewis has a diverse educational background, including degrees from institutions such as Chicago City College, North Park University, Western Governors State University, and Post University. She currently works as a faculty member at San Joaquin Valley College and serves as adjunct faculty at the College of the Desert and the University of California Riverside. Dr. Lewis is located in Palm Springs, California. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare information systems and clinical informatics, her passion lies in utilizing healthcare technology to enhance patient care and evidence-based clinical practice. She holds certifications in Nursing Informatics and CPHIMS and is a Fellow of the Healthcare Information and Management System Society (FHIMSS).
